Then on Thursday, I went to Max’s growth hacking summit and heard speakers like $4B+ growth hacker Dylan Anders and email marketing sensei Phil Rivers.

5 HACKS TO BLOW UP THE INTERNET:

1. GET KEYWORD NOTIFICATIONS

Want to get notified when people post about a keyword on Reddit, HackerNews, Product Hunt, and more?

There’s a $20/month tool called Syften that will hit you with a Slack or email whenever your keywords are posted.

Here’s the filters I have set up so far.

When someone posts about “cold DM” or “cold email”, I go drop a comment with my Guide to Cold DMs and they get subscribed to my newsletter.

Boom, low-cost subscribers looking for exactly what I help with.

2. GET TO KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE VIA SURVEYS

My readers are the best readers in the world.

We are the marketing maniacs that add fun shit to the internet.

We’ve met up at events, we’ve grabbed coffee, we’ve worked together on funny viral videos, we’ve collabed on blogs, and we hang out every week on strategy calls. But I realized I’ve never sent a single survey!

I got hit with a hard truth.

Max told me I haven’t been promoting my services enough in Cyber Patterns.

4. AUTOMATE LINKEDIN CONNECTIONS

I found a new tool called Dux-Soup that sends:

• LinkedIn requests to people in your niche

• If they accept, it hits them with follow-up messages

Why is it called Dux-Soup? IDK. Is it helping me find new followers on LinkedIn and get newsletter subscribers? Yes, it is.

Boom. An app can have a stupid name if it works 😂

5. MOST MARKETERS ARE NOT FUNNY

I always thought all marketers were funny.

But with the exception of 2 speakers Max and Phil, the jokes were BAD.

This proves my meme marketing thesis even more. If you’re a funny marketer, you can stand out. In the world of everyone using boring ChatGPT-written content and lame ideas, you should lean into your sense of humor.
